Iceland: Tectonic Plate Diving   by Noblitt Debro

Iceland is Europe’s westernmost u . s . a ., and occupies a strategic region within the North Atlantic, straddling the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, on the edge of the Arctic Circle. One of the most coldest international locations in the world, additionally it is probably the most global’s such a lot volcanically lively hotspots. Iceland is understood as of late for its mixture of glaciers, bubbly scorching springs, rugged fjords and fiery volcanoes.

Iceland can provide you with a truly distinctive diving revel in you can’t get any place else: diving among tectonic plates, astride the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the fault line where of the Earth’s tectonic plates are drifting apart. It’s not most effective unique, however it’s also exclusive – most effective few folks have dared to check out the experience. To get to the diving web site, you first have to pressure deep into geo-thermal territory and tectonic plate activity. If you are no longer but thrilled sufficient, you can drive day after today to its glaciers within the south and race snowmobiles.

The rustic is probably the most sparsely populated in Europe, with just 283,000 people residing in an area the size of England or the US state of Kentucky. Over half of the population lives down in its southwestern corner, round Reykjavik, the small but cosmopolitan capital. The other first rate-sized inhabitants center is Akureyri, up at the north coast.

What Else to Do

All lengthy-distance buses and domestic planes begin their trips from Reykjavik. You can seek advice from Geysir, the original geyser from which all different gushing scorching springs get their title, and the spectacular waterfalls at Gullfoss. The country’s best world airport at Keflavik is on the Reykjanes Peninsula, an area teeming with birdlife and whales.

Out of doors Reykjavik and the populated southwestern corner, the wilder aspect of Iceland meets your eye – wide-open spaces of shiny green fringed with coastlines of purple and black volcanic sands set in opposition to a backdrop of brooding hills and mountains. At the west coast, in the towns of Borgarnes and Reykhold and the encompassing nation-state, every landscape function you spot might be associated with parts of the Icelandic sagas.

The Snaefellsnes Peninsula is the rustic’s so much available hiking destination. Arguably, Iceland’s so much dramatic scenery is within the a ways northwest, the West Fjords, where you’ll to find tiny fishing villages ensconced on the foot of table-most sensible mountains or tucked away in the neck of narrow fjords which protect the homes from ferocious Arctic storms that batter this uncovered a part of the country.

You’ll be able to relax for a day at Akureyri. From here, it is simple to go within the Arctic Circle to the island of Grimsey. The rustic’s greatest vacationer appeal outdoor Reykjavik is Lake Myvatn, one hour away to the east of Akureyri. Many species of duck and waterfowl nest on this lake, that is surrounded by means of evidence of volcanic activity, including lengthy-dormant cinder cones and still-steaming lava fields. North of Myvatn is the small the city of Husavik, the most productive place for summer whale-gazing cruises, whilst just inland to the east you’ll hike alongside deep river gorges of the Jokulsargljufur Nationwide Park to the awesome Dettifoss, Europe’s such a lot robust waterfall.

Iceland’s such a lot rewarding long-distance hiking path is found close to the glacial lagoon, Jokulsarlon. The Porsmork trail is without doubt one of the world’s most exhilarating walking paths. In the south coast, you’ll be able to take a ferry to the Vestmannaeyjar (Westman islands) to survey the arena’s largest puffin colonies and have a look at Surtsey, the new island created via volcanic eruptions within the mid-1960s.

While to Pass

Icelandic weather is notoriously unpredictable. In summer, there is a fair chance of bright and sunny days. Many bus routes in the course of the inside do not get started till past due June or early July while the snow after all melts. The solar does now not fully set all over June, and though there is no precise nighttime sun, nights are light from mid-Might to early August across the country. Among September and January, the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lighting can also be seen. Hiking and camping are out of the question in winter.

Making plans Your Trip

Such a lot finances lodging open only from late Would possibly to early September. In wintry weather, there may be little likelihood of lodging instead of huge inns in Reykjavik and the principle towns. Given the long distances concerned to reach Iceland, flying is the fastest and most cost-effective option. The best airfares are around June to August whilst the elements is best. Fares drop September to November and April to June, and also you get the most productive prices throughout the low season, November to March. Probably the most convenient flights from Europe and Asia go through London; there are direct flights from the US, however Canadian travelers want to go via the US.

Can anyone suggest good Scuba Diving for beginners in Egypt?

We are a couple wanting to go scuba diving together in Egypt. We’ve only done a few dives each so don’t want anything too deep at this stage. We would like a nice 4-5 star hotel if anyone can suggest this near dive sites too. Any info about where to fly in would help as well. A trip up the Nile would be a bonus!

All scuba diving places have to tell you the safetyinstructions and how to use your breathing apparatus by law so try anywhere,

scuba diving packages
Vacation destination?

So a few friends and I are looking into going on a tropical type vacation near the end of this year. None of us have ever gone anywhere before so we all have ideas of where we should go.
Here’s a list of what we are looking for:

beach, all inclusive package (if possible), activities like scenic hikes, Scuba Diving, etc…and if possible someplace with a interesting history. We are students so nothing extremely extravagant resort wise, we also want someplace with a nightlife so we can have a little fun too.

As you can see its a fairly tall list, we want to be busy but enjoy some luxury too. Does anyone know of or has been to any where like this. Or any ideas of a good area of the world to start looking? (also we are coming from canada)

Thank you in advance!!!

10 Action Packed Gap Year Programmes   by Dave Richards

10 Action Packed Gap Year Programmes

With the prospect of a year out looming,I wanted to find out the most exciting gap year options.
Googling comes up with a few key gap year companies and websites, i-to-I, and gap year.comare the main playerin my opinion. These companies are mainly volunteering focused, but I wanted something more adventurous.
I came across one company called real gap, i liked the look of some of their programmes a lto, and they were mostly at the top of google but i also found some really fierce reviews, Sunday Times website mainly about them being expensive and not great value for money. This was disappointing as I liked the look of their programmes. Then I found another company http://www.xtremegapyear.co.uk.
Xtreme Gap says on their website that the are specialists in adrenaline travel

I have compiled my top ten here

10 Shark Diving In South Africa

They also listed a great white shark conservation project too. This is ideal if you want to spend more time shark cabe diving

9 Australia Surf Dude Programme.

This is an all inclusive surf camp lasting 3 months in Australia

8 Divemaster Programmes With Sharks!

2 programmes, both similar in 2 different countries The Thailand Divemaster is based on Koh Tao where you bet to “swim with bullsharks for breakfast” and the Philippines programme is situated on a tropical island encircled by Thresher sharks.

7 Learning Kung Fu in China

Shaolin Monks will teach you Kung fu. Is that cool or what?

6. Capoeira, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and boxing training in Brazil

Martial arts in Rio de Janeiro, sounds pretty hardcore, but then again Capoeira is more like dancing no?

5. Australia East Coast Gap Year Special

Taking in the east coast of Australia and taking part in surf camps and sky diving before diving the barrier reef

4 Becoming a Master Freediver in Thailand
Diving to 30m with no equipment? Far out.

3 Whale Shark Conservation in Africa

Whales sharks are the worlds biggest fish, and they look really cool close up i would imagine

2. Touring South Africa During the World Cup

Who would not want to be at the world cup this summer? All inclusive overland tour taking you all the way round the country sounds good! Not to mention the football! Tempting! But I could not afford it! Damn!

My number one pick….

1 Learn Muay Thai in Thailand
This one sounds incredible. “Training with the Muay Thai Champions” live on a paradise island, bet fit and learn a martial art at the same time. When ready, you can fight a professional Thai boxer!

I also considered the Mixed Martial Arts Training programme
So there you go. I am off to do that next year. Anyone up for joining me?

What is it like living in the USVI?

How are the job prospects (I’m a bartender, licensed merchant marine captain, former Scuba instructor, dive boat captain, parasail boat captain, B.S. in business management)? Has the resent economic collapse hurt the Islands greatly? Housing costs? What’s better: St. Thomas or St. John, and why? Is it good to liveaboard there, and is there much hassle against liveaboards from local law enforcement (I’m from the FL Keys and have seen this increase greatly over the years)? From the standpoint of snorkeling from shore, where is the best area to be near? Rumor has it that crime is rampant in the USVI, is that true?

Well one thing is for sure you won’t be without a job.

The recent economic caollapse has effected the Islands.

I recommend you follow their local paper for a bit before you make any serious decisions:

http://sts.onepaper.com/

vidailynews.com

Home prices for the VI or expensive!!!!! Think of New York and San Fransico in water.

St. Thomas v St. John is like comparing chocolate and strawberries. They are different. ST. John is like living in a natural park. ST. Thomas more like a resort.

Crime~ When I lived there a little girl as I was could walk from one end of the island to another with out problems. I am in my 30s now.

STT and STC has influxes of crime at times. But oddly enough it dies down a lot. The problem with a small island as these are, any major happening will be felt throughout the region.
IE a huge influx of “new residents” from other islands will cause some settling pains, including crime.

Read the paper. But I remember those as very happy times living there. I had lots of friends, and if you can get use to the fact when you go into a restuarant you are going to sit for a while before service is rendered you can be part of the island life style. They are not even being rude they think it is poor taste to rush you.

shortie wetsuit
How far can an inexperienced kayaker paddle in a day?

My daughter is 13 and is new to kayaking. I’m also something of a novice but understand the risks and safety aspects of the sport. I was planning to take my daughter to lake Windermere in the UK and try and paddle the full length over 2 days if the conditions are good. We will have shortie Wetsuits and bouyancy jackets as the water temp is about 9 c that time of year. We’ll be using decent sit on top kayaks and will have dry bags with about 20kg of gear each. Am I asking too much of her as the lake is 11 miles long so 5.5 miles paddling per day. She’s fairly strong and very healthy.

I’m sorry, but that is a completely inappropriate and unsafe plan. Unless that was a typo, 9 degrees C is far too cold for what gear you are describing! That is 48 degrees Fahrenheit! In a sit on top kayak you are constantly wet and you will be hypothermic within minutes in such conditions. And if you were to capsize (always a possibility with wind gusts and waves on such a large lake) you would be completely unable to perform a self rescue in such cold water. Please read up on cold water immersion before you attempt this.

http://www.wildernessconnection.com/?page_id=18

Personally, I have kayaked for almost 10 years on a variety of waters and I would not attempt such an outing without a completely enclosed sit in kayak with spray skirt and a full drysuit with insulation layer and neoprene gloves. I’m shocked the BCU instructor didn’t point that out. With the right gear and clothing (as well as some practice beforehand to assure you can perform a re-enter if you capsize) you could easily paddle an 11 mile lake in one day, in fact — even a novice in a good touring kayak can easily paddle 2.5 to 3 miles per hour.

Apo Reef is a series of coral reefs that stretches out 34 kilometers within the waters of Occidental Mindoro, Philippines. It is the largest in the country and second in the world as a contiguous coral reef system. Apo reef and its surrounding waters are administered as a National Park.

Found in the municipality of Sablayan in the province of Occidental Mindoro, this was proclaimed as protected area, along with its surrounding waters, by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 868 dated September 6, 1996 to preserve its beauty and to serve as a tourist spot.

It is also worth noting that In 2006, the Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau of the Philippine Department of Environment and Natural Resources submitted the reef to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre for consideration as a World Heritage Site.)

Apo Reef Attractions

Apo reef is well known for its coral reef and famous diving spots. The shallow lagoon with a depth of 2-10 meters surrounded by a mangrove forests and diverse corals which serves as food and shelter for the aquatic life that harbor there. You’ll never be disappointed with the different kinds of marine species that you will see.

In terms of diving spots, Apo reef provides numerous of them that provide assortment and different attractions:

scuba lessons
How often do people die when taking Scuba Diving Lessons?

The reason I wonder is my Mom and Dad went to Florida for a vacation and decided to get scuba diving certified there. On their last day and dive to get certified, in the Atlantic Ocean my mom was under about 50 feet of water with everyone else. Then my mom became unresponsive. Now I’m waiting for my Dad to fly back from Florida to bring my Mom back after the medical examiner does what they have to do. This was just yesterday when my Mom died, and I feel devastated. Although I’m a guy and am not good at sharing emotions, I’ve been crying since.

Before my parents flew out there, I took a scuba diving lesson class with my mom from Padi in a swimming pool, and I really enjoyed it and really wanted to try it again. However, now I feel so devastated with the big loss.

I don’t know how common it is for that to happen during actual scuba Diving Lessons?
Elliott,

The reason I ask is I feel so so depressed and wanted to know how common it is during actual lessons.

It is very rare for anyone to even be injured during a scuba diving course, much less a fatality. As long as the student is in good health and follows the rules they learn during class, scuba is a fairly low-risk activity. The medical history form that every potential student fills out prior to starting the in-water portion of scuba training is intended to identify those people with medical conditions that make scuba especially risky for them and to filter them out if a medical professional deems the risk unacceptably high.

Unfortunately the risks of scuba diving can only be reduced to a manageable level through health, fitness and training, they can never be eliminated completely.

I’m sorry for your loss.

bare wetsuits

Ironman Triathlon-Run Equipment Choices   by Ray Fauteux

There are several run-equipment choices I feel can help you quite a lot in your quest for your first Ironman Trathlon finisher medal.

SHOES- Of course well fitting shoes are a priority. I’ve tried every sort of shoe you can imagine over the years and have come to this conclusion:

You can train just as well and stay just as injury free in $50 shoes as you can in $150 dollar shoes. For instance, what if an outlet has a brand new 2005 model shoe on sale for $69, and sells the new, improved (same shoe) 2006 model for $149. Does that mean the older model was no good and will hurt your feet? Of course not! In order to stay competetive, manufacturers have to continually make small changes and/or improvements in their product to stay in step with the competition.

The change from one year to the next may just be in the color, or new lacing system or a bit more build-up in some part of the shoe. Sometimes the change is really small.

Just shop around. See whats out there and in your training try several different types of shoes and when you find the one that just feels great, fits perfect, and never gives you blisters no matter how far you run—then that’s your race day shoe. Try and make your choice for a race day shoe the lightest of all your shoes.

Remember: Whatever you do, don’t go out and buy some fancy shoe for Ironman day because it looks really great. Go with the old shoe that got you there. Don’t make any late changes.

I heard this story years ago and have never forgotten it and it’s just a great example of what I’m talking about.

It’s 1960, Rome Olympic Games. An African from Ethiopia shows up for the games. He is running in the marathon. He has no shoes. He didn’t train in shoes. He trained back home by chasing rabbits for miles in his bare feet. A major shoe distributor at the games gave him a brand new pair of shoes to wear. He put them on. They hurt his feet. He took them off. Said “No, thank you”. He ran the marathon in bare feet. Twenty miles were over the cobblestones of Rome.

HE WON THE GOLD MEDAL!!

Now the shoe manufacturer really LOVES him and gives him shoes to train in at home.

FLASH AHEAD 4 YEARS TO THE NEXT OLYMPIC GAMES–

This African runner from Ethiopia shows up at the Olympic Games. He is entered in the Marathon again. He is wearing shoes that he trained in at home. They don’t hurt his feet now.

HE WON THE GOLD MEDAL!! AGAIN!!

HIs name is Abibe Bikila. The first African to win olympic gold–now they are a dynasty.

The moral of the story is:

If he had worn the shoes for the 1960 Olympics, not only would he have not won gold, he would have trashed his feet. Just imagine the blisters. He wasn’t accustomed to wearing shoes.

If he had not worn shoes in the 1964 Olympics, not only would he have not won gold, he still would have trashed his feet. He wasn’t accustomed to bare feet anymore and his feet would not have the same toughness as the previous olympic games.

So I repeat: Go with the footwear that you’ve done lots of training in. Don’t make any late changes. When I found a pair of racing shoes I just loved, I wore them training until they were nicely broken in. I put those elastic, lock laces on them, so I never had to tie them again and I put them away. I wore them for 5 Ironman races. In that last transition, it was like putting on a favorite pair of slippers. I NEVER had blisters or foot problems. I ran one Ironman marathon in 3:34 in those same shoes.

FUEL BELT-I was so glad to see these come on the market. It used to really bug me to run a long distance in training with a water bottle on my hip. I just seemed out of balance. For that reason, I never bothered taking a water bottle out on an Ironman run course. You should really make a fuel-belt a part of your Ironman run-equipment for training and racing. The belt I prefer holds 6 smaller containers. They are spread out around your waist so you don’t feel out of balance and you hardly know they’re there during your runs. These are a particularly good idea for the Ironman marathon because you can use them for your favorite fuel if its not being supplied on the course. The belt also has reflectors built in for night running.

HEART MONITOR- I really feel that everyone training for an Ironman should make use of a heart monitor. It’s just a really important piece of run-equipment. See my page on training with a heart monitor.

WEAR A CAP- I’m not sure why some Ironman Triathletes don’t wear hats. They provide protection from the sun of course–but more than that–they are ideal for putting cold water in(or ice) at aid stations to keep you cool. On extremely hot days you just HAVE to do everything you can to keep your body cool.

CLOTHING- For training of course, you have to dress for the weather in your part of the world. For race day however there are a few ways you can go.

TRISUITS are a really good idea. You wear the trisuit under your wetsuit and you’re good to go for the other two events. Usually they dry out pretty quickly, but you may be cool in the early portion of the bike ride.

A second option is tri-shorts and a seperate top. The shorts are padded for the bike and like the trisuit, you just wear the shorts and top under your wetsuit.

A third option is just wear a swimsuit under your wetsuit and make a complete change into clean, dry, and warm cycling clothes. Then make another complete change at transition two into running clothes.

In my later races when time was more of a factor for me, I went with the second option. I preferred a seperate top, because I had pockets(similar to a cycling jersey)sewn into the top to hold food. Normally trisuits don’t come with pockets and its not really the type of material you can sew a pocket onto. Also, if I felt like changing into running shorts at the second transition it was a simple operation. Just wear the same top and change shorts.

For your first Ironman the run-equipment you choose can make a big difference in how you perform on the day.

The clothing you choose will make a difference to your comfort level on race day. I would recommend for your first Ironman Triathlon, that you take your time and go with clothing option number three. Just wear a swimsuit under your wetsuit, make a complete change into cycling clothes, and make a complete change into Your favorite running clothes and shoes for the marathon.

dive equipment

Diving Equip, Scuba Equip, Scuba Diving Equipment Cost   by Adrian Miller

There’s tons of equipment consequently, tons of possibilities difficulties. It is really crucial that you have superior quality gear and keep it adequately. Now, if you do a very good pre-dive security check out you eliminate most probable challenges. Do this with a buddy so each of you can check the other’s gear at the exact same time.

Phase one: Check the Buoyancy Compensator.

Check that your auto inflation button performs. Go forward and inflate your BC until it’s a very little extra complete than you want it just before you enter the water. Future, test your deflation mechanism. Permit some air out until eventually you have the BC inflated plenty of that you float when you enter the h2o.

Action two: Check the Fat Technique

Make convinced the pounds process is practical. If you’re working with a excess weight belt, make certain there are no twists and the body weight is dispersed evenly. It should be very clear of all other gear. Make guaranteed the buckle is positioned for a perfect hand release and the extended belt is not tangled or encumbered in any way.

If you happen to be employing an integrated method, make positive the weights are essentially in the system. Make certain both equally of you comprehend accurately how to release the weights. Various BC makers have differing devices.

Action three: Verify Your BCD and Tank Straps

Test the BCD rapid release buckles. Make certain they are essentially snapped closed. Make sure the straps are snug. I’ve observed divers slide right out of their BC when they entered the h2o. One more incredibly common but more hazardous challenge is the tank band. Make positive it is really snapped shut securely. Occasionally the heating or cooling all through transport can cause the tank to loosen in the band. It can slide up in the course of entry and strike the back again of the head. Or it can slide down and strike someone’s foot although on the boat or shore.

Move four: Look at Your Air and Regulator

At this position you will need to have opened your tank valve. Check out that it is entirely open and there are no leaks. Pay attention for air leaks at the tank valve. Check breathe your regulator. Look at your tank strain gauge when you do this. If the strain drops rapidly, your tank valve is possibly closed or barely open. Make sure your tank is whole.

Upcoming, make sure your buddy is aware the place your alternate air source is. Make certain you know where by your buddy’s is. Examination breathe equally. Make positive they’re secured in spot. A single popular dilemma is a again-up regulator that is dangling and both will get fouled with sand or entangles the diver.

Step five: Closing Test

Next, do a final when through. Make positive all your other gear is on and unencumbered. Snorkels could be hung up in the BC, mask straps may possibly be twisted, you could even now be wearing your hat. When the last check out is performed you might be ready to enter the h2o.

When you happen to be each in the drinking water you really should do yet another closing examine on or near the surface prior to start the Dive Right.

bali diving
Scuba Diving at Bali Indonesia?

Next month, My girlfriend and I are going to Bali & would like to try scuba diving, we are planning to stay at http://www.scubaseraya.com. Anybody have gone to this accommodation and tried their scuba activities? Thanks!

there is great diving all over Bali. Any where you go you are going to be bombarded with offers for Scuba and Free Diving. You just have to decide where you want to dive and you will be provided for. The Gili Islands are a favorite spot and the coast between Padang Bai and Amed is fantastic.
For all that scuba is great…there are some free diving spots that are amazing. The Blue Lagoon at Padang Bai is one of my favorite spots. I had better diving here with a snorkel and mask than the places that I went Scuba diving. The coral and game fish were amazing and this was right off the beach at no cost at all.

So I would recommend that you do not tie yourself to one venue. You will have many choices and should take your time and do it right.
However: The resort that you are interested in is right in the middle of the good scuba area. It is in close proximity to the Liberty ship that you can dive just off shore. Its pretty amazing. I would say that you have made a pretty good choice… but. Try not to limit yourself by paying for your whole trip in advance. If you get there and find some people to party with or just another nice resort you want to have the ability to move without it costing a bundle.

diving stuff

Traveling With Scuba Dive Gear and Equipment   by Clint Leung

With today’s state of air travel and airport security, scuba divers often have to decide how to travel with all their dive gear. For those scuba divers who plan to rent all their equipment at their destination, this isn’t an issue. However, the trend in diving has always been that as divers become more experienced with more dives logged after initial open water certifications, they tend to want to
use their own equipment rather than rent. This is especially true with masks, regulators, Wetsuits and dive computers. Avid scuba divers will often travel with their entire gear including fins and buoyancy compensators. Of course because of weight issues, scuba divers rarely travel with tanks or weights.

I have an air integrated Oceanic scuba Dive Computer that I wouldn’t want lost or delayed in checked luggage during my Dive Trips so I always carry it on with me on airplanes. I have never had any problems going through airport security. Sure, they might check my stuff because scuba dive gear looks pretty foreign to most airport security staff but that’s okay as my scuba dive computer always
got through. The only thing I have to be careful of is how I pack it. On a few occasions, I had put the computer in a soft bag that also contained my regulator, another piece of my own scuba equipment that I would prefer to use rather than deal with a rental. During travel, one of the buttons on the dive computer must have gotten accidentally depressed which activated the device. Because of the altitude and/or pressure changes during a flight, the dive computer thought that it was going on an actual dive. It started beeping because it didn’t like the statistics it was sensing which was a bit
annoying on board. After the flight, my dive computer actually locked out for 24 hours. It was a good thing that I didn’t dive until the next day. So from now on, I always pack my scuba dive
computer in a box which prevents accidental activation and then the box goes into my carry on baggage. I also carry on my mask as well as my log book and certification cards. I wouldn’t want to be refused for diving by a dive operator in case my checked baggage was lost so it is highly recommended to carry your log book and certification card with you.

Everything else like my wetsuit, booties, fins, snorkel and buoyancy compensator goes into my checked baggage. If my checked baggage is lost, stolen or delayed, I can always rent the extra equipment I need without losing any dives. Some folks believe that one should not check in any large scuba dive bags with the dive flag displayed as it may advertise luggage containing expensive dive gear. In this case, one can always pack a flexible scuba dive bag inside a larger regular suitcase. So a good rule of thumb to use is to always carry on the scuba Dive Equipment that you can’t afford to lose or be without for your diving and check the rest.

cheap dive equipment
I need help choosing a camera can you help?

i would really like to take a dive into the photography world. i always take pix with my fone and digital camera but id much rather have 1 of those cameras with switchable lenses. ive really had my eye on the canon eos rebel t1i. i dont no much about the lingo i think it is called an slr? i would just appreciate any advice or anything. i would also like to understand what different lenses do and if u cud provide a link for explanations or even websites where you can find cheaper camera equipment i would greatly appreciate it

Hi, I can recommend Nikon Fa, Fe2, Fm3a all are well built cameras which continue to stand the test of time. They dont cost very much and keep their value. They have everything you need to take fantastic shots and have a huge number of high quality lenses which they can be used with. Taking photos should be a intuitive and dont be fooled into buying a camera which has all the latest technology…most of it never gets used and will cost you a lot of money…if you want to spend money on your kit then buy a solid camera body and good lenses.

Scuba Diving Offers Many Options For Underwater Adventure   by All SCuba Diving!

Scuba diving is often thought of in reference to warm locations such as the tropics or Australia, where divers can learn how to do the sport and then plunge into a mild ocean climate and witness all the colorful and rich bounty of the sea.

All of this is true, of course, but scuba diving is not limited to vacation destinations. Scuba lessons are available in most cities and towns through local swimming pools and even private lessons. Any deep lakes in your area are suitable for going scuba diving, whether practicing for your tropical vacation or just enjoying your hobby. People trained in scuba diving even have chances to make a career out of the pastime; training others, working with law enforcement or search and rescue, at popular aquariums, in the Navy, even owning their own scuba diving outfitters in areas tropical or at home!

Even with all this as truth, though, one cannot help but think clear blue water and gorgeous underwater seascapes when they hear the phrase scuba diving. Scuba diving is ideal in clear tropical waters, where you can see long distances ahead of you and gaze at the multiple sea life in the reefs and open waters.

One of the most popular scuba Diving Destinations is the Great Barrier Reef off of tropical North Queensland in Australia. Divers can enjoy the sea’s bounty in one of the most pristine and peaceful environments in the world. There are scuba diving outfitters all along the coasts of Australia, or experienced divers may go out on their own. Divers who choose to have their own expeditions must remember to be cautious, however, because as with all outdoor activities, there are risks in scuba diving. Weather conditions should be checked before embarking on a scuba diving trip, as scuba diving is best done on clear, sunny days. Divers also do not want to get caught in the dangerous waters of the rainy season. The box jellyfish (as Nemo watchers know) is present in the tropical Queensland waters and lives off the coast during the wet season, so swimming and diving is only recommended in enclosed areas. These jellyfish are never found on the Great Barrier Reef.

Scuba diving is a great way to see a world that is beyond what most humans will ever experience. Scuba diving takes a lot of learning and practice, so don’t go buy some gear and jump into the nearest body of water. Take the time to have some lessons and make sure you know what you are doing before engaging in a trip of your own. Anytime you go to an unfamiliar spot for scuba diving, make sure you consult with local experts on what you can expect to find when you plunge under the water.

7mm wet suit

Full Wetsuits Provide Full Functionality   by Chris Kennelly

Firstly we should differentiate between the various items that may be confused with a wetsuit. These items include the wetsuit itself, the dry suit and the body suit. The wet and dry suits provide the wearer with thermal insulation, whilst the body suit is more suited for protection against scratches and sun exposure. The dry suit essentially does what the name implies and keeps the wearer dry, in which instance they can wear clothes underneath the dry suit in order to keep warm. If you are diver or spending a lot of time in the water in warm regions, such as the tropics then the body suit will provide protection against possible stings, scratches and getting sunburn, otherwise this suit is not suitable for insulation.

Should you be considering a wetsuit for diving purposes, and more specifically within the colder water regions then the best choice is that of the full wetsuit. This provides covering for the entire body, meaning torso, legs and arms. In addition to this you can elect to wear boots and a hood, if the water is really cold. Do not expect to come out of the water dry though, as the function of the full wetsuit allows the water into the neoprene material, which then forms a layer of water around the body. This layer is then warmed up by your body temperature and acts as a layer of insulation around the body.

Further benefits of the full wetsuit include the fact that if you are Scuba Diving, the suit will protect from any potential scraps against the coral, or rocks that you may be diving close to, in addition to keeping you warm as well as protected from exposure to the sun. the full wetsuit is also available in a number of different thicknesses which allows the purchaser to seek out the right full wetsuit for their needs in accordance with the water that they will most predominantly be Diving In. The full wetsuits varies in thickness and can be obtained up to a thickness of about 7mm.

Some of the options available in a for this type of wetsuit include the detachable arms and legs, which is a type of full wetsuit, which can be converted into what is known as a shorty. Effectively this allows one the opportunity of having the best of both worlds in terms of wetsuits, as the shorty can be used in the summer or in warm water conditions and the full wetsuit can be worn in colder conditions. Some people however find that the detachable arms and legs have a tendency to allow more water in which defeats the object of the wetsuit function.

A full wetsuit offers great protection in terms of scratches, bites and keeps the wearer warm in cod water conditions, choose yours carefully bearing in mind what water temperature you most frequently Dive In.

Maximize Outdoor Working Options With Rain Suits   by Ben Pate

Wet weather doesn’t need to keep you from working, playing or pursuing a hobby outside. Rain suits provide the option of hiking while it’s stormy or jogging on a misty morning. Ride a motorcycle or gather a bunch of friends to watch a football game on a rainy day. Just because the sun isn’t shining doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun. With the right hi visibility rain gear, you can enjoy yourself and also stay dry. You’ll even be protected while you’re out boating or if a big truck splashes past while you’re walking on the road.

Different Styles

Men and women both can enjoy many styles of wet weather safety gear. Raincoats are obvious and can be found in just about any color imaginable. However, there are also parkas and jackets, coveralls, boots, hoods and more.

Working Outdoors

If you work outdoors, you’ll find plenty of rainwear options. It might also be cold out there while you’re on the job but there are styles with thermal lining for warmth. You’ll be able to feel comfortable and dry while you’re working and you can look good as well.

Available In All Sizes

There’s no need to leave the kids home if you’re planning a camping or boating trip on a potentially wet weekend. Many sizes are meant for children and there are more products than raincoats. Outfit them in hats, boots, jackets and pants and you’ll also be able to find some good gloves, too. When you know the kids will be wearing the proper gear, the whole family will be able to enjoy the weekend. Just check the forecast and pack the waterproof apparel.

Stay Dry Doing Outdoor Activities

Anglers and hunters also need to stay dry, warm and comfortable. It’s the nature of those sports that you might run into moist mornings or foggy days. Men, as well as women and children, can comfortably stand on a riverbank at sunup with their lines in the water. Hunters can choose from camouflage colors that will match the area of their hobby. There are also women’s styles that come in camouflage and they’re modeled to look attractive on the feminine form.

Waterproof Clothing

It takes a certain expertise to create the best waterproofing products. Those in the business have all the technical knowledge and they also have an artistic side that means their apparel is fashionable, too. The best products come from a combination of creativity and technical knowledge.

Everyone Benefits

Whether you’re out working on a construction site or enjoying a golf game, you’ll appreciate keeping your skin and clothes dry. Men, women and children who play or work out of doors are simply more comfortable when they’re not soaking wet. Because there are so many brands and styles available, everyone’s tastes can be met. There are also enough accessories to ensure you’ll be covered, such as overshoes and high-visibility wear.

About the Author

There really is a remarkable amount of choices available to those who are looking for reflective rain gear. The only problem you’ll run into is with regard to which safety gear suits you best. If that happens, simply ask yourself whether your goal is to play, work or pursue a hobby. Soon you’ll be out there despite the weather.

Learn Diving On A Scuba Diving Cruise   by Greg Trefter

One of the best ways to Learn Scuba Diving is on a scuba diving cruise. But before you can begin your scuba diving cruise, there are a few basic things to consider.

First is whether or not you can swim. If you can’t, you really should commit to some lessons before you start your underwater adventuring on a scuba diving cruise. You don’t have to be Mark Spitz, but you should know the basics like treading water and duck diving before scuba diving.

You can actually receive your Scuba Diving Certification on your scuba diving cruise. It’s one of the rewards of your marine adventure and is usually included in the cost of the cruise. The certification comes from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (Padi).

You won’t have to worry about bringing Dive Equipment along with all of your baggage. A scuba diving cruise will have a dive locker and staff ready to offer you the option of rental.

If you wear glasses, you might need a prescription mask, which you can obtain from almost any scuba shop before going on your scuba diving cruise. If you have a common prescription, many Dive Shops will offer the masks as rentals. You can wear contact lenses under your mask. Be sure to bring back-ups.

Do not just pack for hot weather. Your scuba diving cruise will likely be in a tropical ocean zone, but nights on the water can get chilly, especially after being in the water all day. Along with swimsuits and bikinis, be sure to pack a couple of sweatshirts or sweaters, you’ll be glad you did.

Scuba diving can be a physically demanding activity. Because of the level of physicality involved, you will be required to fill out a medical questionnaire and sign a waiver. You might want to get an exam from your own doctor before embarking on your scuba diving cruise just to be sure that everything is okay. That way you can enjoy your diving experience, worry free.

Be sure to pick the right ship for your scuba diving cruise. Practically all cruise lines offer packages that feature scuba diving excursions, although not everyone offers training and certification. Princess Cruises has a New Waves cruise program that offers Padi Certification as a part of all of their seven day cruises. Carnival, Holland America, Disney, and Royal Caribbean all have packages with scuba shore outings. Norwegian Cruise Lines has a scuba program they call their Dive-In excursion.

There are some favored destinations for a scuba diving cruise, such as the British Virgin Islands, Cozumel, Cayman Islands, Hawaii, the east coast of Florida, the Florida Keys, Bonaire, Bahamas, or Turks and Caicos. All of these locations are regularly serviced by a scuba diving cruise package from one or more of the cruise lines.

So, if you have always wanted to learn to scuba dive or you are just ready to jump in and get your feet wet, certainly one of the most fun learning experiences you could hope to have is onboard a scuba diving cruise.

Understanding Scuba Diving – Pro Advice On The Ideal Practices   by wayla bhoot

Coming from a desire to only be helpful, old-timers in the scuba diving field will constantly offer good-natured advice on what to do and what not to do. You should always take this advice to heart knowing that these experienced individuals are only concerned for your well-being. Many people will also read from the Padi website which has everything from learning how to become a certified Scuba Diver to the type of gear that you have to have. Most divers will agree that if you can become efficient at everything they teach you, you will go far. The more efficient you become at breathing, for example, or relaxing, then so much else proceeds that much more smoothly.

Many things are important to know, such as how to make the adjustment to get neutral buoyancy. When considering buoyancy, it will be necessary to think about the wetsuit along with the depth. Because of the added pressure, the deeper you go down, the less buoyant your wetsuit will become. When you are in shallow waters you may feel like you need more weight. The sensation of being underweight will go away as you go deeper, as was mentioned already. Owning your own wetsuit is a good idea, if you plan on doing much diving. Since it is your suit, in time you will get to know how it reacts regarding buoyancy loss at depths. It will be essential to get the feel of your buoyancy compensator. One of the typical errors we see with novices is they make too great of an adjustment or they are too impatient. Take each fact into context and do not be in too much of a hurry to enact each move into play. If you are interested in abrupt action as a result of supplying air or taking it; you may be asking too much. This will literally take a few seconds at most. Regardless of the minute length of time, some will not even allow that much. Complications could possible arise if your BC is inflated or deflated more than is necessary.

To ensure that you only have the best night diving experiences, there are certain things to know. Night dives are very seldom deep dives, is nice to know, if you have never been night diving. As the best safety issue, keep to shallow dives after darkness comes. If you asked around and spoke with experienced night divers, you will hear different recommendations with the average of them in the thirty to forty feet depth. Some of the more experienced divers were braver, and gave a recommendation of sixty feet maximum depth.

It is definitely a worthy goal to achieve your Padi Certification so that you can go diving anywhere in the world that you want to and know that you’ll be doing so in a safe and fun filled manner. And as with anything, always be aware of safety issues that may arise. Even if you are certified, to be safe, always remember that despite your knowledge, you should be prepared for problems that may come up while you are exploring.
